Virtually EVERYONE uses Google search, why isn’t your business on Google+? If you have a business which uses social media to promote itself and you are not active on Google+ you are potentially losing customers from lower search results.

Granted, this article is on an SEO marketing website offering their services, but they do bring up very valid reasons to be more involved on Google+. More favorable Google search results is one very large reason. People do not normally search for stuff on Facebook but they do search for businesses on Google!
